»»  The PreK Classroom 4 & 5 year olds

The pre-kindergarten classroom offers an integrated approach to language learning with emphasis on phonetic instruction and the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The pre-K child is provided with conditions where seeing, listening to, and reading the printed word is an emphasis. Children are read to daily and parents are encouraged to visit the classroom as readers.

Additionally, mathematical concepts such as numbers and numeral relationships, simple measurement and simple geometry are introduced to the children. Students also take weekly enrichment classes in music & theatre arts, Spanish and French. Computers and technology in general are integrated across the curriculum, with a dedicated computer technology lab in the classroom.

Teacher-parent conferences are held throughout the year so that parents receive clear communication about their child's challenges and progress and successes. To ensure a healthy transition from pre-K to elementary school our teachers are encouraging and supportive of both the students, and parents.
