Yes, of course! We encourage parents to allow their children to eat the nutritious meals that are provided at the school. Please remember that at school children are learning the world around them, and food is a very important way in which they explore the variety of tastes, colors, smells and textures that life offers. Our meals are prepared on-site and meet all portion sizes and standards for healthy meals for developing brains and bodies. We incorporate a variety of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables and our menu includes international child-friendly foods (think tortillas, queso, humus, as examples). We do not serve any juices, MSG or artificial sweeteners.
That being said, we also prefer your child to be satiated during critical learning times and for healthy development. However, if you choose to send in home made meals, we ask that you send the meals consistently and adhere to healthy food options. Please speak to the Director during your tour so she is aware if you would prefer to provide your child’s meals.
