FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost for my child to attend Hatch House?

We know that price is not everything, but we also understand that we all live on some type of budget. So our tuition is competitively priced and family-friendly when compared to similar preschools in the area. Our rates are slightly lower than our competition so you are always going to get a good value. In general, as tuition is largely based on the age of the child, the older children get, the less dependent they are on us adults and therefore tuition rates usually trend lower. The best way to get exact rates is to come in for a tour, or call the school. Our tuition also includes a morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks.

Are there any other additional fees for my child to start?

To enroll or register your child we do have a $100 registration fee per child. Also, a tuition deposit is required, and is refunded as long as you provide a written 30-day notice by the 1st day of the month. We plan schedules and staffing on a monthly basis so advance notice allows us to plan accordingly.

Do you offer any tuition discounts?

We provide a 5% tuition discount on the tuition of the eldest child when two or more children from the same family are enrolled.

Do we have part-time programs? For infants? Drop in Care?

Yes, for older children, no for infants, no for drop-ins. We do our best to maintain low ratios while providing a consistent work environment for our staff. The large majority of the kids who attend are full-time Monday to Friday. Children who are two years of age and older can attend part-time 3 days per week Monday, Wednesday, Friday or even less frequently, Tuesday and Thursdays.

As quality care for infants requires consistency, we do not offer part-time options.

Unfortunately, due to health and safety concerns we do not accept daily drop-ins, all children and families have to have completed our enrollment process and paid the required fees.

Can I just drop in to visit the school?

It depends, once your child is enrolled, you are welcome and encouraged to drop in at any time, as we have an Open Door policy. Don’t be surprised if a Teacher or Administrator asks you to come in as a Special Visitor, or to read a book, or be a member of our PIE (Parent Involvement in Education) or to help at one of our numerous family events. We welcome and encourage parent participation in the school.

In the same breath, do remember that the very young child does not have a concept of time. A few hours or a minute are all the same (don’t we wish we had that skill!) so sometimes your child may cry if they see you and then you don’t take them home. So we ask you to be conscious about this as you drop in for visits.

Where abouts in Cedar Park and Round Rock are the schools located?

The Cedar Park school is at 125 S. Lakeline Blvd. When driving on Lakeline Boulevard north, we are on the southbound side, midways between the closest cross streets of Buttercup and Whitestone Blvd.

For the Round Rock school we are on Ranch-Road 1431, also known as Farm-to-Market Road 1431, also known as Whitestone boulevard (gotta luv Texas!). We have two easy access points to the school, either directly from 1431, or enter from Sendero Springs boulevard and then wind your way behind the bank to get to us, there is an unnamed street there.

My child has a specific diet, can I bring in homemade lunch and meals?

Yes, of course! We encourage parents to allow their children to eat the nutritious meals that are provided at the school. Please remember that at school children are learning the world around them, and food is a very important way in which they explore the variety of tastes, colors, smells and textures that life offers. Our meals are prepared on-site and meet all portion sizes and standards for healthy meals for developing brains and bodies. We incorporate a variety of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables and our menu includes international child-friendly foods (think tortillas, queso, humus, as examples). We do not serve any juices, MSG or artificial sweeteners.

That being said, we also prefer your child to be satiated during critical learning times and for healthy development. However, if you choose to send in home made meals, we ask that you send the meals consistently and adhere to healthy food options. Please speak to the Director during your tour so she is aware if you would prefer to provide your child’s meals.

What time can I begin dropping off my child if enrolled?

We begin operations at the crack of dawn, well not exactly, actually we open the doors to the building at 6:30AM and close at 6:30PM. Usually no children are in care at 6:30AM sharp, most folks begin a little later, so if you will be running off to the airport or are an early starter and need to be quickly in by 6:30AM, please let a manager at the front know so she can ensure that the staff who open are ready to receive your child promptly.

What type of security do you have?

We have several levels of security including HD cameras throughout the exterior and interior of the buildings, fire and alarm systems, locked doors with keypad entry, and fingerprint check in and check out systems. A large camera viewing station is located in the foyer so you can see how your child is doing after drop off, don’t be surprised that they have already forgotten you!. All visitors must provide state issued photo identification and are escorted during their visit in the school.
